Proposal for our practice to join Northmbria Primary Care’s primary care network

We would like to inform our patients of a proposal that NPC North Tyneside – which includes NPC Spring Terrace, NPC Nelson, NPC Park Parade, and NPC 49 Marine Avenue surgeries – joins NPC’s Primary Care Network (PCN). If approved, our practice will leave the North Shields PCN.

What is a Primary Care Network?

A PCN is a group of GP practices working together with local partners, such as community health services, pharmacists, mental health services, and social care, to provide coordinated and proactive care to patients in a local area.

PCNs are designed to make healthcare more personal, accessible, and effective.

How will this benefit patients?

NPC North Tyneside is proposing this change to help us focus our resources where they’re needed most, with the aim of providing the right care at the right time, in the right place for our patients. This includes closer working with local partners, meaning patients experience better coordinated care, especially for those with complex or ongoing needs.

Being part of a larger, experienced primary care network will help ensure high standards of care and give patients confidence in the services they receive.

What does this mean for you?

  • There will be no changes to your care. You will continue to access services at your chosen surgery just as you do now.
  • Enhanced access services will remain the same.
  • You do not need to take any action.

This change is administrative and will not affect your day-to-day care. If you have any questions, please speak to a member of our team. You can do this by calling our surgery, visiting us in person, writing a letter or e-mailing us at ntccg.49marineavenuesurgery@nhs.net. Thank you for your continued support.
