GP practices are required to declare the mean earnings (e.g. average pay) for GPs working to deliver NHS services to patients at each practice.

The average pay for GPs working in the last financial year was £58,285.58. This number is before tax and national insurance.

This is for 9 part-time GPs.

We are a Veteran Friendly practice. This means that we have a dedicated clinician with specialist knowledge of military-related health conditions and veteran-specific health services. This is as part of the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant.

We are a teaching practice.

This is a valuable process for the development of future generations of doctors. They are directly supervised by a senior/lead GP with every patient contact. From time to time, it may be necessary for several clinicians, including medical students, to be part of the team that delivers your care.

You will be asked for consent before each interaction. If you do not feel comfortable with the presence of medical students, you can request that they not be a part of your consultation.

The relationship between a GP surgery and its patients is based on trust, mutual respect, and open communication.

This partnership between GP surgeries and their patients is crucial for ensuring high-quality medical care and promoting overall health and well-being.

Your rights as a patient:

• A good quality of care and environment based on best practice
• Not to be discriminated against on the grounds of gender, race, religion and belief, sexual

• To receive drugs and treatment as recommended by the National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence (NICE) for use in the NHS if your doctor feels it is clinically appropriate for you
• Decisions are made clearly and transparently, so you can understand how services are planned
and delivered
• To be treated with dignity and respect in accordance with your human rights
• The right to privacy and confidentiality

Your responsibilities as a patient:

• Treat NHS staff and other patients with respect
• Provide accurate information about your health, condition and status
• Keep appointments or cancel in a reasonable time so that other patients can benefit from the appointment slot
• Follow the course of treatment which you have agreed with your GP, and talk to your doctor if this is difficult
• Give feedback, both positive and negative, about the care you have received.
