NPC Felton surgery update

Further to our last communication earlier this month, we want to update you on when work will start to upgrade our surgery. We have also increased services being provided from Felton.

As previously explained, the start date is subject to all conditions being met following receiving planning permission earlier this year. We hope that we will receive confirmation from the council soon that all conditions have been met. We will then be in a position to confirm a definite start date.

Please be assured that we are doing all we can to ensure the upgrade of the GP practice begins as soon as it can.

Improving care and patient services

We are very pleased to let you know that Dr Sue Picton is increasing the number of sessions she does from week commencing Monday, 10 August. Dr Picton specialises in menopause and is keen to start menopause clinics in the near future. In addition, we have a new GP, Dr Aida Emara.

Advanced care practitioner (ACP), Kaye Williams, currently works 2 days and will be increasing this to 3 days from August. We were sad to say goodbye to our ACP, Michelle Davidson, as she has relocated back to Somerset.

Our GPs and ACPs work at both our Widdrington and Felton surgeries.

First contact physiotherapist, David Mercer,  works one day a month in Felton and we need to ensure that all of his appointments are taken. We will ensure that we use these appointments to reduce patients having to travel elsewhere.

Once our Felton surgery is refurbished and we have more room, our GP registrars will have the space to work from Felton too.

We hope that this reassures patients that we are doing what we can to improve the care we provide.
