If you take medicine regularly, you’ll usually have a repeat prescription. This means you can order your medicine without having to see a GP every time.
When a doctor prescribes you medication, they’ll explain how and when to take it, and whether it’s for short or long-term use.
If the doctor agrees the medication is suitable for ongoing use, they may set up a repeat prescription. This is usually done after monitoring for side effects. You’ll often need to request repeats yourself (by phone or app) and collect them from your nominated pharmacy a few days later.
In some cases, your surgery may set up repeat dispensing, where your medication is issued automatically for a set period (e.g. six months). Your pharmacy or doctor will then carry out regular reviews to ensure everything remains appropriate.
You can order your repeat prescription by calling our prescription order line. The phone number is 01670 713 911.
Please allow up to three working days for your request to be completed. Most pharmacies will deliver to your home. You can arrange this directly with your pharmacy. There may be a fee for this.
Our prescription service is automated. This service can be used when the practice is closed. A member of our team will process the request the next working day.
You can order repeat prescriptions via SystmOnline or the NHS App. Ordering your prescription online is easy and quick.
When you request a prescription online, you can have your prescription sent electronically to a pharmacy of your choice. This is called choosing a pharmacy (it’s also known as nominating a pharmacy).
Once you choose a pharmacy:
You can choose a local pharmacy by using the NHS App or logging in to the NHS website using a web browser. You can also use the NHS app and website to change your nominated pharmacy.
If you prefer to use an online-only pharmacy, which sends your prescriptions to you in the post, you must register with them through their website or contact them directly.
