As we head into winter, it’s important to get vaccinated against flu. You’ll be protecting yourself, your loved ones, and people in your community from becoming unwell.
The vaccines are available to young children (2 – 3-year-olds), those who are pregnant, people aged 65 and over and those with certain long-term health conditions.
If you are eligible, you will receive a text message with instructions on how to book an appointment at your Northumbria Primary Care GP practice.
By choosing to be vaccinated at your registered NPC practice, you can receive your vaccine in a familiar environment, and your health records can be updated instantly.

Information on Covid vaccination
The eligibility has changed, you can get the winter Covid 19 vaccine if you:
- Are aged 75 and over (including those who will be 75 by 31st Jan2026)
- Aged 6 months to 74 years and have a weakened immune system because of a health condition or treatment
- Live in a care home for older adults
Your local GP practice will be contacting you to arrange an appointment.
